Currently, the RT 03 reservoir no longer gets its water supply from the rainwater reservoir, but the water has been supplied from a drilled well which is approximately 850 meters away. The long HDPE pipe is embedded through hills and valleys to reservoirs for the hard work of the residents, mothers and fathers sharing their roles to bring water closer to their daily lives.
The construction of clean water and healthy sanitation facilities continues, namely by building two toilets equipped with septic tanks with SNI. The concept of this toilet is a ferrocement toilet combined with materials available around the RT 03 area. The ferrocement is combined with bamboo and white stone cut into blocks and slabs of stone as the toilet floor and surrounding terrace. Of course gotong royong is the concept used in the construction of this toilet, all residents take part.
There are 3 types of bamboo used in the construction of this toilet, the large Pitung bamboo is used as the main pillar supporting the roof, the smaller but thicker Padang bamboo is used as the roof battens and Javanese bamboo, the medium size but thinner bamboo is used as the walls of the toilet with how to chop or crush. Then white stone, such as limestone with a dense texture which is also used as an insulating wall, the wall of the bath tub and the wall in the bath at the back of the toilet. Excavation, cutting and transport of these stones is done manually, using crowbars, hoes and machetes. Likewise the slabs for the floor, which are upheld by mothers after being collected in the gardens behind the house, these stones are very easy to find around the village of RT 03 Lai Tujuk.
Using materials available around the village is one of the fishing strategies for other residents to make healthy sanitation facilities independently by utilizing the resources around them. And also if in the future there is damage or there must be periodic replacement of materials, this can be done independently by the residents of RT 03. It is conceivable, the potential of the surrounding natural resources that can be utilized in the process of building this toilet is quite rich, but the residents need more knowledge to be able to maximize and utilize the resources they have.
