Latar belakang<\/p>\n

Sekolah dasar Mbinu Dita, terletak di dusun Mbinu Dita, yang berada di Timur Sumba. Waingapu kota yang paling penting dari Sumba adalah lebih dari 2 jam dengan mobil, yang lebih dari satu jam di jalan beraspal sebagian dan dalam kondisi yang sangat buruk.<\/p>\n

Wilayah di mana Mbinu Dita ini berada, telah menjadi desa merdeka dan yang sekarang menjadi bagian integral dari desa Prai Paha, kecamatan Ngaha Ori Angu.<\/p>\n

Mbinu Dita Parallel School berafiliasi dengan sekolah induknya Waitama One-Stop School. Ketika kami mengunjunginya November lalu, sekolah memiliki dua ruang kelas (tingkat 1 dan 2, untuk anak-anak berusia 8 hingga 10 tahun), bertengger di atas bukit, tanpa air dan tanpa listrik.<\/p>\n

Sekolah paralel ini dibangun karena anak-anak kelas kecil hidup terlalu jauh untuk mencapai sekolah utama, yang berjarak lebih dari 8 km dengan berjalan kaki. Berkat Mbinu Dita, anak-anak harus berjalan lebih sedikit, tetapi untuk beberapa, lebih dari 3-4 km. Gedung kelas ini telah dibangun secara independen, oleh orang tua siswa, dengan bantuan masyarakat sekitar.<\/p>\n

Semua telah bekerja “bergandengan tangan” untuk membangun sekolah ini, sehingga anak-anak mereka dapat memperoleh pengetahuan lebih dekat ke rumah. Sekolah ini sangat sederhana dengan dinding bambu split, lantai pasir hitam dengan atap timah dan alang-alang. Meskipun begitu, anak-anak tampak nyaman. Sekolah memiliki cukup materi pengajaran dan pembelajaran, dan menawarkan berbagai hasil pembelajaran kreatif bagi siswa mereka.<\/p>\n

Sekolah yang kami cari di Mbinu Dita (Sumba Timur) benar-benar hancur oleh badai pada tanggal 18 Desember 2019. Oleh karena itu, FFF akan membangunnya kembali sebelum akhir Maret 2020 . Lebih dari 50 anak dari daerah yang sangat terpencil ini tidak lagi memiliki sekolah dan kami semua menangis, dan ini adalah drama kehidupan yang sebenarnya bagi seluruh masyarakat di desa tersebut, dan mereka telah lama tinggal di sana tanpa akses langsung ke air bersih dan listrik.<\/p>\n

Kami mengambilalih sekolah ini pada November 2019, karena kami tersentuh oleh kebaikan penduduk desa yang luar biasa namun masih di bawah garis kemiskinan. Untungnya, tidak ada siswa, guru kami di kelas, karena anak-anak telah menyelesaikan ujian mereka dan menerima laporan sekolah mereka. Oleh karena itu mereka tidak di sekolah ketika bencana ini terjadi.<\/p>\n

Apa yang akan terjadi pada anak-anak ketika mereka mulai sekolah semester depan? Apa yang dapat kita lakukan untuk membantu membangun kembali sekolah ini untuk anak-anak Mbinu Dita sehingga mereka dapat belajar dengan nyaman dan aman di masa depan?<\/p>\n

Kami terus berkoordinasi dengan para guru, sekolah Charis Sumba yang membantu para guru muda dan komunitas Mbinu Dita. Dengan ini, kami mengundang semua orang untuk berpartisipasi bersama kami dalam rekonstruksi sekolah. Proyek dalam tahap pengembangan dan penggalangan dananya sudah maju dengan baik dan kami harus dapat mulai bekerja pada Bulan Februari 2020.<\/p>\n
